Well here's your chance! We have two cannery dates. Up to 6 people per date and time, so sign up quick!
March 11th 10:00am-Noon
March 16th 10:00am- Noon
If you would like to sign up, you can leave your info in a comment, email me or sign up on a clipboard at church.
please note: you can only can things that are bought from the cannery that day. You can't bring items from home, even if they were purchased from the cannery on a previous occasion.

Hello! My name is Sherry Matthews and I'm your Ward Emergency Preparedness Specialist. It's my job to keep you motivated. I'll be constantly adding new information-- so check back often. Also feel free to leave me questions, comments or ideas that you might have about food storage or 72-hr kits.

Mission Oak Ward, Let's Get Prepared!
For those just starting out:
1) Basic 72 hr kit completed
2) Make a realistic plan for food storage and follow it towards a 3-month supply of food; 2-week supply of water
For those already started:
1) Have an updated / rotated 72-hr kit; emergency cash saved
2) Add a 3 months supply of food to your current food storage.
~As a ward I know we can move forward with our Emergency Preparedness and become more ready for the unexpected. During the next 6 months you’ll see more opportunities to strengthen your knowledge about food storage, along with opportunities to increase your food storage such as trips to the cannery. Keep a positive, can do attitude it will propel you towards success. The time has come to be prepared and it’s easier than you think. It’s just so important not to put food storage off, let this be your “Someday” and grasp this opportunity to make progress. ~

The First Presidency has recently said: “We ask that you be wise as you store food and water and build your savings. Do not go to extremes; it is not prudent, for example, to go into debt to establish your food storage all at once. With careful planning, you can, over time, establish a home storage supply and a financial reserve."
